Nokia
Knowledge is facts,
information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education;
the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. Knowledge management is the process of capturing, developing, sharing,
and effectively using organizational knowledge. It refers to a
multi-disciplined approach to achieving organizational objectives by making the
best use of knowledge. Nokia should use knowledge and learn from Nucor steel of
the way to share knowledge. Being the first one who adopted new technology is
always risky, and Nokia should take this step like it did before in 1990s when
cell phone start expansion. After that Nokia start laying back in new
technology and thought its strong product will keep it first in the competition.
Nokia should encourage its individual employees
to share knowledge, and building effective and efficient transmission channels and
convincing individual to accept and use knowledge they received.
Sharing knowledge required accepting the new
knowledge and work to adopted and modify it to come with new ideas and new
technology. Nokia realized that late after it lost its competitive advantage. But
now with accepting the new technology and start working with new knowledge of Windows
7 as their new software, it might come back and be in the race of competition
again.
